1 hour per week. Learner will be assigned writing for each phase of the Writing Process we learned that day. These assignments are crucial to the success of your learner.

Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
In this week-long summer camp, your learner will learn The Writing Process technique. This process describes a sequence of strategies to plan, write, and publish a well organized writing piece. I will teach one phase of the process each day culminating in a published piece your learner will be proud of on the final day of camp. Learners will listen to others writing with respect and provide constructive criticism. Learners will have writing assignments each day. Learners will be provided with organizational tools to help organize their thoughts, information and ideas.

Lesson 1:
Prewriting
 What are the different types of writing? Who is my audience? What resources will I use? What are my ideas?

Drafting
 How will I organize my information/thoughts? Did I create flow? Are my sentences complete thoughts? Did I create unified paragraphs? Who can I read my ideas to?

Revising
 Did I read my writing? Are my details clear? Do all my sentences belong in my writing? Do I need more information? Did I put my information in order?

Editing
 Did I use proper capitalization? Did I check my spelling? Did I use proper punctuation? Did I stay in the same tense throughout? Do I have subject-verb agreement? Did I use descriptive words?
