This ongoing writing class focuses on writing strategies that help learners become successful writers. Learners will learn about sentence structure, writing elements, techniques, using graphic organizers, and writing paragraphs.

This ongoing class gives a solid foundations to help learners become a successful writer. Each class, learners will learn about a writing technique, vocabulary, or element (setting, theme, climax, etc.) and create a visual to use in their interactive writing notebook. Learners will practice finding these elements in paragraphs, as well as writing sentences. This class offers a paragraph writing lesson once a month. This class requires some prep work. I am a certified teacher in the state of Virginia with 17 years of teaching experience.
Learners will need a composition notebook, scissors, glue, colored pencils/pens, and access to a printer. A weekly pdf will be provided for learners to cut and have ready for class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Parent guidance may be necessary due to the use of scissors. Parent guidance is also required for the use of the 3rd party resources, Kahoot and Blooket. Kahoot or Blooket accounts are not required. The game links will be shared in the class chat.
