Hello! I hope to have you join me in my classroom! I have a degree in education and have taught first and second grade and high school English in a private school. For the last 8 years, I have homeschooled my own children, which included teaching each of them to read. From the very beginning, we found that a strong phonics foundation was the key to reading success. This is the method that will be used in my classroom. You'll find two printable hand-outs in the welcome post in our classroom. Please choose which one is best for your learner. One handout will have the sentences written in dotted font. This way, letter forms and spacing will continue to be re-enforced. The other handout will be only lines with no letters/words. You can choose between the two handouts based on your learner's skill and confidence in writing their letters.
