Class Experience

This is a class for Grade 2 and 3 learners who want to practice their writing skills and improve their written work while having fun.

Writing is not just about putting words on paper - it's about putting the right words on the paper - so this class will examine writing at word level, sentence level, and paragraph level, as well as exploring many other aspects of creative writing.

Each class will use a mix of independent practice, collaborative creations, games, and individual writing time....

The goal of this class is to have fun, to get learners engaged with all facets of writing, and to make them more aware of their own writing process. They will learn to identify their own weaknesses and strengths and use that knowledge to develop their writing skills.

Doing homework is optional but worksheets will be given after each lesson with review and supplementary exercises.

Students need to come prepared to write. They will need a pencil, eraser, and some paper. Worksheets will also be used in some lessons and, when needed, will be posted in the classroom one week before the class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Students are expected to be able to write a minimum of 3-5 sentences (in 5 minutes) on their own. More advanced students are also welcome in the class because all activities can be expanded and each student is encouraged to work at their own level.
