Writing Practice - Individual Letters, Words, & Sentences on the Screen & Paper
In this ongoing class, we'll practice writing individual letters, words, and sentences on both the screen and on paper.

I am a very patient, creative and upbeat teacher. I want kids to look forward to my lessons and learn as much as possible. To start out class, I will share the sentences we'll be working on. Examples include: A fat pet was on a hill. The car did go zig, zag. Tony did wag his tail. We will then practice writing the individual letters, words and then move onto sentences. I will check in with each learner to see how they are progressing. This is a fun, focused class that will help kids practice their writing skills on paper, whiteboards, and the screen (if they can). I will share a funny picture or gif that follows the sentences to keep the learners engaged during the lesson. I will ask learners to show their work on paper, whiteboards, and/or the screen. I will mention each learner's name throughout class. This is a great way for kids to be learn how to listen in a class environment, follow directions, and stay focused to meet a goal. Parents and students are welcome to reach out with any questions after class. *****NOTE: Students will be required to know their letters and their basic consonant sounds before class. Additionally, how to hold a pen/pencil and use paper/whiteboard.***** You may join anytime as lessons won't build on each other.

Supply List
Paper, pencil or white board, marker and the ability to write on the screen if you can. This isn't a requirement though. If they can, it's a great way to practice writing on a variety of material.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I love teaching about so many topics including; animals, social studies/geography, science, life skills, and reading/fluency skills.
I have taught for 14 years in brick and mortar schools and online for 5 years, including 3 years of ESL/ESOL. I am TESOL certified. I have experience with the Orton-Gillingham (OG) reading program and teaching kids with ADHD and Dyslexia. I struggled as a learner so understand that everyone learns differently. I like to get to know my students and what they enjoy learning.
I touch on the various ways we learn by hearing, seeing, doing, and talking about the topics.
I am the proud mom of two older boys, ages 22 and 18. I also love animals and have a CUTE dog named Myles and snake named Harley! (You can meet Harley in my Introduction to Snakes class.)
I live in Arizona and enjoy traveling. I have been to Mexico, Israel, England, and most recently Japan.
