In this one time class, students will get the opportunity to explore some types of formatted poems and practice writing them.
Class experience
In this creative writing class, students will become familiar with formatted poetry and have the opportunity to try their hand at writing them. We will examine the: Haiku, Cinquain, Tanka, Acrostic, and "I Am" poem. We will share the poems with each other that they have created. I am a certified teacher and have over 24 years of teaching all ages Language Arts. I have over 10 years teaching creative writing in a private school.
A summary of how to write the poems we will discuss will be posted in the classroom the day of the class.
