Class Experience

US Grade Preschool
In this class, students will practice correct number formation (0-10) and we will also be working on identifying the basic shapes: circle, triangle, star, oval, heart, rectangle, square, diamond, and octagon. Students are encouraged to bring along something to share that is the shape of the day. This could be a toy, game, picture in a book, or anything else they are able to find! They can even practice drawing the shape to show the class if they'd like. We will practice sharing our object at the beginning of each class to work on social skills, such as taking turns, listening, and speaking. Next, we will learn about the shape of the day and the number of the day. We will learn some songs to help the children learn their numbers and shapes. We will also practice writing them (using the provided handout and a pencil or marker) and using playdough and candy to build them! Children will be given a handout that we will be using in class each day. Students may laminate the sheet, put it in a pocket protector, or print enough copies for each lesson as we will be using the same sheets for all classes. If students aren't able to print the sheet, they can bring along a whiteboard and marker or paper and pencil. I strive to provide a warm and welcoming class environment where all children can learn. I will help children learn about their letters and shapes in a variety of hands-on ways. I hope to have some letter and shape fun with your child!
**This class is for children learning to identify and write numbers 0-10, and shapes AND/OR for students who need extra practice writing them.**

Hello! I am so excited to be a part of Outschool and to share my love of teaching with your child! My mother was a teacher and I’ve always known that teaching is my passion! I am a licensed teacher who taught elementary grades for 12 years. I was also a reading specialist at the elementary level. I’ve been teaching on Outschool since 2020 and I taught ESL students online for three years. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Literacy. I am currently a licensed teacher in the state of Ohio.

Currently, I stay at home with my own three children, but I love being able to still create lessons and teach from home. I absolutely LOVE watching kids learn something new! I enjoy creating new lessons to teach online and also to share lessons that have helped my students in the past. I love to engage students in discussions and hands-on lessons to help make learning fun! I also keep class sizes smaller so kids have a chance to interact with both their peers and myself. I strive to make students feel comfortable and to be engaged in my classroom. If you see a class that doesn’t fit your schedule, please let me know and I will do my best to make accommodations.

If you’re new to Outschool, please message me about my referral link to get $20 off your first class!

I hope to meet you soon in class! :)
