Class Experience

In this class students will learn my number one secret to writing a great screenplay- write a great villain!  

We will take a deep dive into the Marvel films to uncover what a supervillain is and what makes a villain great for writing an interesting story. We'll explore how to use craft and writing elements to make the story exciting and engaging to an audience. Learning is enhanced by visuals and clips from the Marvel films. students will learn the top five key elements to writing an amazing villain and an exciting story for film. 

-what is the difference between a superhero and a supervillain 
-why is a villain or antagonist necessary for storytelling 
-character design 
-character origin story
-character wants and story arcs

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.

All of the Marvel films are rated PG-13. Please do not have your student take this class if you are not comfortable with them watching Marvel films.

We will be focusing on villains from the Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and The Avengers story lines.
