Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
I have taught writing for over 15 years, and the easiest way that I have found to teach writing is through the use of the four square writing method. It allows just enough structure to help struggling students without being too restrictive for those students who are more comfortable writing. It is a way to easily organize writing that allows for the individual student's creativity and personality to shine! Students will learn how to effectively and easily organize their thoughts in order to write for any type of writing assignment. In addition, this a great way to prepare for timed writing tests. Students will leave class knowing what the four square writing method is and how to use it.
I strive to have a classroom where all my students feel valued and heard. I use slides to teach so that my students always have the materially visually. I encourage my students to dialogue with me and with each other throughout the class so that the class can be as interactive as possible. My classroom is a safe place where all students can feel comfortable to share and to learn. I look forward to seeing your student in the classroom soon! Let's learn and have fun together!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my profile! I love learning and I love to inspire kids to get excited about learning! I have a degree in Psychology and I am certified to teach both English and English as a Second Language. I have been teaching for fifteen years. I taught middle school English, Reading, and Creative Writing in the public school system for eight years, and I have been homeschooling my two daughters for eight years. I have been teaching online for four years and I love it! My writing has been featured in Seeing the Everyday magazine.

I strive to make my classroom an inviting, safe, and happy place where all learners can grow. My goal is to offer a well-rounded Language Arts program taught in a fun and encouraging environment. I teach a variety of classes focusing on reading comprehension, writing, poetry, and oral language skills. I also offer one on one tutoring as well. I have something to meet the needs of all types of learners! I even have life skills classes and some fun pet classes where we learn how to care for bunnies, cats, gerbils, and hamsters! I can’t wait to meet your child!

When I am not teaching, I love to read, write, research best practices of teaching, crochet, play board games with my family, and take family vacations to learn more about nature, science, and history. You can often find me reading a book on time management or how to organize and clean your home more effectively! I love learning! Let's learn and have fun together!
