This Writing class is for students who need support writing complete and interesting sentences and passages. This class works as a great supplemental course for students in school or homeschooling who are needing additional or more individualized support and feedback. This class also works as the main year-round Writing curriculum for homeschooled or unschooling students and families looking for a consistent and comprehensive Writing program where students can explore an interest in writing,...
While materials are not required, it is strongly suggested that students have a designated binder for this class where they are able to store notes, handouts, and their personal writing. Students will have the option of creating a digital or physical Writing Portfolio. If they choose to create a physical Writing portfolio they will need a separate 3-brad folder or 1/2 ‘’ to 1’’ 3 ring binder to store their finished writing pieces safely throughout the year. Learner Supply List: Binder Folder with 3 brads pencil pen or pencil of another color (for editing) lined paper
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Families will be sent weekly Youtube supplementary videos that you can choose to view in addition to my instructional videos. They are viewable on Outschool and students are not sent to the Youtube Website. Students will also be provided with weekly games on Gimkit and Blooket. They do not need to create an account to play, but families can choose to create a free account in order to save scores and points on the website. This is optional. I will also provide you with student access to my "Classroom" on Epic!, a digital library. I will occasionaly share books that go with our theme for the week. You do not need to create an account, students can access unlimited books during "School Hours". If you wish to have access to books on evening and weekends, you can create an account for free which gives you access to read 1 book daily. Students also have the option of using Google Docs for keeping track of their Writing Portfolio. This is entirely up to the families discretion and preference. Students can keep either a hand-written portfolio or a digital portfolio on Google Drive. If students choose to use Google Drive, I will provide a Document that they will be able to access without having to login to a Google account. The family can make a copy of this document to save to their own personal account/computer.
