Description
Class Experience
Codes writing is a great way to get reluctant writers writing. It's also fun for puzzle-lovers of all ages. In this fun, interactive class, students learn about codes that have been used throughout history. Each day, students will be introduced to a different kind of code, and then they will get a chance to practice writing in the code. They'll do code-writing activities, like writing about a secret mission or making a menu for a secret Monster Cafe. Finally, students will try to make...

I am a Colorado-certified K-6 teacher, who has been teaching for over 20 years. I have taught in a variety of settings, including public schools, a micro-school, and in homeschool settings.
Homework is not assigned, but at the end of each class students they will have their own codes that they can use at home for their own messages.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I am always assessing student understandings informally throughout discussion and participation in the class.
