Class Experience
In this five-week FLEX class, students will be introduced to five different text types. Each week will focus on a different text type. Students will be learning these text types: description, sequence, compare and contrast, cause and effect, and problem and solution. Students will learn how to write in the following text types: description, sequence, compare and contrast, cause and effect, and problem and solution.
I have been a certified teacher for the past 14 years. I was an elementary classroom teacher for 11 years, and I am currently a reading and math teacher. Students need to learn how to write in different text types. This course introduces the different text types and gives students an opportunity to practice writing in each text type.
Students will follow a lesson in Nearpod each week and will complete a writing assignment each week.
Students will need the following materials: - Graphic Organizers (These will be posted in our classroom each week.) - Pencil - Notebook or Writing Paper - Computer or Tablet - Nearpod Website or Nearpod App - Nearpod Code (This will be posted in our classroom each week.)
