Join in our class where we will read newspaper headlines from This Day In History. We will learn a bit about what was going on, where and how it impacted people then and perhaps, now too. Our class will allow students to learn together in a friendly atmosphere. Every class is different and they do not build on each other - come and go at any time! Skills Addressed: Reading informational texts, Reading for content, Evaluating main ideas of informational text, Text and image analysis, Drawing Conclusions Topics will vary based on the date (I draw the reading from an event this day in history) Week 1 Jan 10 United Nations Declaration, Week 2 Jan 17 First Female to Lead Major Movie Production Company (Fox), Week 3 Jan 24 Utopia Experiment in New Harmony, IN, Week 4 Jan 31 New York Yankees and Babe Ruth, Week 5 Feb 7 Samuel Morse Invents and Tests Telegraph System,
