Writing for Young Learners: Cook-A-Doodle-Doo

Poor Rooster doesn't have anyone to help in the kitchen. He puts together an interesting team of helpers and mayhem follows! Skills covered include, listening, speaking, connecting to a story, sharing thoughts and putting them into a spoken and then written sentence.  Learners will listen to a story, discuss ideas for a written response and then work together to write a sentence or two based on the story.  My job is to coach your learner through putting their idea into a manageable sentence and then stretching out words as they write the sentence along with me.  High frequency words will also be covered as part of the writing process.  The course is limited to 5 students to allow learners to share ideas with each other through conversation and to work through writing a sentence together. Learners should be able to write most letters of the alphabet and have some knowledge of letter sounds. English Language Learners welcome!
