In this course, students will be taught the keys to a well-written essay such as formatting, thesis statements, and proper conclusions. We will cover expository essay writing for school assignments and testing. Class will be both lecture and hands-on with students creating their own essays during the class. There will be documents free to the students that cover these necessary writing strategies and skills. Students are welcome to interact and engage during the lesson, but I quite understand if they'd prefer to observe and take notes only. Students should have a solid framework in writing and write at a 7th grade level or higher to fully get the benefits from the course.

Handouts will be provided online, but students should come prepared with paper and pencil.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach writing classes for formal essays and practical uses, but also teach students about having CONFIDENCE in their writing. I have taught Language Arts for five years now, and I enjoy watching students learn the joy of writing and the ability they have. I believe that many students are capable of being skillful writers, but often times, they lack the smaller pieces to the puzzle. In my classes, we will break down the barriers to writing and have fun! After ten years, I have retired the coaching hat for volleyball and look forward to my new adventures - Coaching YOU on how to become a successful writer!
