The horses trot through the water that sparkled. Wait, what tense am I using? Students often struggle with tense shifts in their writing. Join Ms. D for a one-time workshop to help gain a fuller understanding of tense. The class will begin with greetings and introductions. Next, students will learn about/review past, present, and future tense. Students' understanding of the concepts will be reinforced through an identification activity and a writing activity. Finally, students will discuss the pros and cons of writing from each tense using sample writing. The class will end with a 'debrief' to discuss students' learning.
Learning Goals
Understand tense in a fun and social class that is horse-themed.
