Description
Class Experience
Students will be able to write a detailed, logical paragraph using the MEAL writing process. Students will be able to revise their own writing using the MEAL writing process.
I graduated from Spelman College with a B.A. in History. While completing my Bachelor of Arts, I participated in many historical writing conferences, including the Georgia Regional Phi Alpha Theta Conference where I received a special recognition award and the AUC History Day Conference where I won second place for my essay on the experience of African Americans during the Vietnam War. In recent years, I taught high school social studies for four years, and my classes focused on developing student writing using the MEAL writing process.
Students have the option of bringing a previous written history paper. If they do not have a history paper that they wrote, your student will still be able to participate in this class.
Students will be assessed on either a revision of their previous writing using the MEAL writing process, or writing a new paragraph using the MEAL writing process.
1 hour 25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
