Description
Class Experience
This one-time senior-level class combines students' love of cats with developing writing skills while thinking about winter. Many students do not like planning and writing poetry, but they will have fun writing this catalogue poem; it won’t seem like work! Guided by an experienced and certified English teacher who also loves cats and poetry, students will think from the perspective of a cat in order to create this catalogue (also known as a list) poem. Students will write a catalogue poem using poetic form that will include at least three types of figurative language.
I am a certified and experienced English teacher who loves cats! I have taught creative writing for a number of years and many of my students have had their work published.
Students can send me their poems for feedback and/or write a good copy of their poems if they would like.
I will provide feedback during the class and am happy to provide feedback for students who would like to send me their poem.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
