US Grade 2 - 3
In this class, learners will be taught how to write a one-paragraph story on a piece of clothing or jewelry. In this class, we will cover - an overview of a few famous examples of stories involving fashion or jewelry - quick review of the elements of one-paragraph stories (introduction, body, conclusion) - a discussion on figurative language and sensory details that can be included in the story - time to write at least one story which can be about an actual clothing or jewelry item, or one that they have made-up - time for learners to share at least one story they wrote Students should be able to write at least 4-5 sentences on their own before class. During the writing time, in addition to sharing the list of ideas we come up with for figurative language to include in our stories, learners may also ask for help with coming up with ideas, spelling, sentence structure, etc. The goal for this class is that each learner will learn more about noticing aesthetic details and and how they can be expressed through writing.
