This class will allow students to explore many different ways to ‘level up’ their writing. I will teach students how to take boring sentences to the next level by adding descriptive words to convey meaning. Students will practice how to include specific words in their writing to ‘show, not tell’ what they’re thinking. Also, to sharpen their craft, students will learn how to spice up their writing by adding a variety of sentence patterns such as: hooking the reader, using synonyms to replace...
Students will improve their ability to recognize and write complete, detailed sentences.
Helpful supplies include paper and pencil, or a whiteboard, maker, and eraser.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
