Teacher comments are placed in the Google Doc's comment section. Students will have 7 days after the final class to make revisions to their final essay. Families who do not submit essays will not receive feedback on their work after the class has ended.Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 5
This class introduces the 5 paragraph essay. Students will learn the core components of writing an essay, and how to apply these skills to narrative essays. This class includes: weekly writing exercises and video instructions. Families are not required to print anything, as all assignments can be completed online. Previous experience with essay writing is not required. Students are welcome to submit their written work for feedback by the instructor. The course is designed to allow students to submit assignments to the instructor weekly for feedback. As this is a self-paced course, it is up to each family to decide whether they would like their child to submit assignments for feedback. Prerequisites: - Basic computer literacy (all assignments are turned in using Google Docs & Nearpod) which requires typing and clicking links. - Some knowledge of grammar is helpful even if the student is unclear about the difference between a noun and a verb. This class is great for: - Students who are new to writing a 5-paragraph essay - Students who are confused about writing a clear paragraph - Students who are new to essay writing Flex Program Weekly Overview: • Friday- students post assigned writing, feedback begins *** In order to receive essay feedback, families should use the Google Doc/ Nearpod link provided by the teacher. The teacher will be unable to give feedback on homework assignments that are received as PDF or photos. ***

Parental Guidance
Students will share material with the instructor via Google Docs and Google Drive. Google Docs and Google Drive does not require your child's personal information to create an account.
This class uses Nearpod. Students are not required to provide personal identifying information. The teacher will provide a Nearpod link and students can log in without an account of their own.
Pre-Requisites
Students should have at least 2nd grade reading skills.
In order to receive instructor feedback, students will need to type their essays.
