Didn't think a grammar class could be fun? That was before you met Sneaky Sam and his writing snafus! Each week we will put on our detective hats and read Sneaky Sam's homework assignment! Then the challenge begins, using our detective notebook with grammar clues we will find the errors left behind by Sneaky Sam. Students will learn a new grammar rule during each class without even realizing it as they try to catch Sneaky Sam. Then, we will apply to new rule to complete a writing activity so students can easily remember what they have learned. Students can join in anytime or participate each week and collect all the writing activities for their own helpful grammar notebook. Students will have time to collaborate with their peers to catch Sneaky Sam and discuss grammar clues as we solve the mystery each week. I will facilitate a positive and encouraging environment where each student will feel comfortable sharing their ideas. Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Blue Mountain University
Hi! My name is Andrea and I love teaching! I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary education which I have used in many different environments, from elementary and special education classrooms to homeschooling my own three children. I have spent time teaching and volunteering at homeschool co-op groups. Currently I am teaching ESL in an online classroom. Regardless of the classroom format, I enjoy helping children learn and reach their full potential!
Your student will have fun learning in my classroom! I enjoy teaching with lots of interactive games and teamwork! We will work on important foundational skills in my favorite subjects; reading and language arts. I want to help your student to become an independent learner by asking thoughtful questions and finding creative solutions.
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my husband and three children ages 14, 11, and 9. We love to read together, take walks, and play soccer.
