In this class, we will dig into the writing conventions to develop as a young, proficient writer. Each week we will work on a convention skill and develop our writing using this skills. These practices will use content and instruction that students would receive within a brick and mortar classroom for their literacy block. I’m a compassionate and charismatic teacher who loves to teach! I have taught Kindergarten through 5th grade students for the last 12 years. In that time, I have been a general education teacher in the public schools setting for 8 years and specialized as a reading coach to my school for an additional two years. I have been teaching online since February 2020. I’m certified to teach Elementary education from Kindergarten to 6th grade. I absolutely love teaching First Grade. I taught First Grade for 8 years in the classroom and it is one of my favorite grades to teach. I have been teaching first grade curriculum online for 2 years now! One of the largest academic transformations occurs in First Grade. I have taught these lessons in the public school setting with many students who have mastered the content. I’m looking forward to sharing this fun class with your wonderful student!
