Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 1
In this class, we will dig into the writing conventions to develop as a young, proficient writer. Each week we will work on a convention skill and develop our writing using this skills. These practices will use content and instruction that students would receive within a brick and mortar classroom for their literacy block. Our instructional focus will support learners who are working on a first grade level or students needing standards based support for a first grade student. We will work on the skills, content, and standards students will need to master during their first grade academic semester 1.

For our writing instruction, we will teach the convention skill, practice through class discussion and a completion task, and apply our skill into writing sentence The use of goggle slide, weekly print outs, and guided instruction will help learners grow and develop each class.

I’m a compassionate and charismatic teacher who loves to teach! I have taught Kindergarten through 5th grade students for the last 12 years. In that time, I have been a general education teacher in the public schools setting for 8 years and specialized as a reading coach to my school for an additional two years. I have been teaching online since February 2020. I’m certified to teach Elementary education from Kindergarten to 6th grade. I absolutely love teaching First Grade. I taught First Grade for 8 years in the classroom and it is one of my favorite grades to teach. I have been teaching first grade curriculum online for 2 years now! One of the largest academic transformations occurs in First Grade. I have taught these lessons in the public school setting with many students who have mastered the content. I’m looking forward to sharing this fun class with your wonderful student!
