Description

Class Experience

The key to creating funny, viral content for YouTube, TikTok and other platforms is good writing! In this class, we'll discuss a process for developing ideas into scripts that you can then video and upload.

Class 1 - Coming Up With a Funny Premise
We'll learn what a comedic premise is and how to generate premises.

Class 2 - Sketch Structure
This class will cover the basic structure used in comedy and students will begin turning their premises into sketches.

Class 3 - Writing
Students will...

Students will learn to generate comedic ideas and how to turn those ideas into a well-structured script to be used to create a video for YouTube, TikTok or other social media.

Students will receive writing assignments to perform outside of classroom time. There is an optional opportunity to record a video based on a script to share with the class.

Students should have access to a word processor such as Microsoft word or Google docs. Professional scriptwriting software is not required.

55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
