Class Experience

In this ongoing club, we will work on creating super sentences and paragraphs in different types of writing to include persuasive, expository, comparison and contrast, descriptive, and narrative. Each month we will focus on one type of writing.

For example persuasive writing. Students will be taught how to construct a one-paragraph following the method OREO. Students will be given a writing prompt and will complete their essays in class. Upon completing their essay students can share their essay in class, record reading the essay, or post the essay in the classroom for students to read. The teacher will provide feedback and corrections when needed.

I will be switching my classes to primarily evening classes the hours of Tuesday and Thursday from 8-9pm EST.

Welcome to my classroom. I have a LOVE and PASSION for teaching through play and music. I offer classes for young explorers, ages 3-12, and I offer math, science, and reading classes that are taught through play and movement. Your children will explore ABC's, 123's, shapes, colors, and animals. I hope to see your child in my classroom! Let's explore and learn together!

I am a homeschooling parent and mother to a 4-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl. I have an Associates' Degree in Early Childhood Education, Bachelors' in Humans Services with a focus on children and adolescents. I am currently working on my Master's in Special education (PreK-12) and will graduate in March of 2022. I have worked with children for the last 10 years in a variety of settings to include a preschool teacher working with children birth-5, ABA Therapist for 2 years, homeschooling my children for the last 4 years, and the last 2 years I have taught ESL online to children ages 3-18.

I believe that children learn best through play. Engaging a child through play and music is a great way to challenge children to be creative and think critically all while having fun. My passion stems from teaching and encouraging my own children to learn through play and music. My classes will offer songs, music, movement, and stories. Together your children and I will explore a wide variety of topics through pretend play all while incorporating learning. My overall goal for each of my classes is to first connect with your child, build fundamentals for your child to include math, reading, and speaking skills. I hope to see your child in my classroom!

If you have any specific requests for alternate times for classes or other classes you would like me to offer please send me a message. I would be happy to help your learner!

    CLASSROOM RULES/EXPECTATIONS/MUTING:

I try my best to encourage participation from learners enrolled in my classes. If your learner prefers to stay muted this is fine. I try to leave all learners unmuted, but I understand that there are instances where being muted is necessary due to background noise which can not be prevented. Parents please feel free to mute at your discretion.

Students are asked to raise their hands when they have a question, answer, or something to say. If a student is repeatedly speaking out of turn I will advise the student why they are being muted and will ask them to unmute when I call on them. Please teach students how to mute and unmute for this purpose.

    SIBLINGS:
If you have more than one learner enrolled in the class, each learner that would like to participate must be enrolled to be fair to other students participating. Siblings are welcome to share screen.
