Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 4
Writing involves many processes in our brain. From getting our thoughts on paper, making sure those thoughts make sense to others, to following the correct rules of grammar and spelling, writing can prove to be frustrating for many learners.

The writing process can become easier when specific steps are taken. In this class, learners will be led to practice multi-sensory skills to write a narrative paragraph. This class will be season themed, and it will focus on completing a narrative paragraph. There will be a slide show for learners to be able to follow along during class.
The class will be 40 minutes long and interactive. Learners are welcome to bring writing materials, but there are not any required materials for class. There will be an optional handout and practice added to the classroom after class.
While all learners are welcome, it would be helpful to have some knowledge of nouns, verbs, and complete sentences. This class is dyslexia friendly.

Special Note:
While all of my writing classes can stand alone, they do vary and grow in difficulty. The suggested order for classes is below. Depending on your learner they may do best following the order or they may be fine to jump into any class. Please reach out with any questions.

Welcome! I am so excited to begin this journey with you!

One of my greatest joys is sharing my love of reading! I'm certified to teach reading and tutor in dyslexia to all school ages. My main classroom focus is helping students learn to read and spell through Orton-Gillingham based strategies.
I believe that learning to read is an essential part of life. While the journey of becoming a reader is different for everyone, there are components that everyone needs to help them become better readers. In my ten years as an educator, I have taught 3rd grade in public school, taught reading intervention to multiple grade levels in a private school, tutored multiple grade levels in reading, and worked as a private Dyslexia Tutor. Throughout my experience, I have been able to work with large and small groups.

My classes are student-centered and based on the needs of the learner. My goal is to always have learners walking away feelings successful. Learning to read is a journey that I would love to help your learner walk.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and follow my profile if you want to be updated about any future classes. I can't wait to see you in class soon!
