Your horse loving young writer is going to love this class. Everyday we will come together to talk all things horses while working on writing a story. Each class will start with an check-in, then I will do a short talk on an element of story structure which will be partially guided by the needs of the learners ie how to build excitement into your story; and then we will get down to the writing. I find children really know what they want to write, they often just need time and space to do...
The learning goal for this class is to expand on creative ideas. Express yourself through writing, drawing, and story telling.
I was a horse girl. When I was 3 years old I declared when I grew up I would be a horse back rider (which my older brother took great pleasure in telling me wasn't a thing). Well, when I graduated high school, I left home and went to fulfill that dream and I did. I was a professional horse back rider and worked in the horse industry for 10 years. But horse-girl is who you are, not what you do. As a parent. I have 2 horse girls, so I have lots of experience using my artistic talents for horsey endevours.
Students may want to work on their stories outside of class time.
Pen and paper or favourite writing supplies. Maybe a notebook. If there's enough interest there may be art supplies for the booking making for the last class.
5 hours per week in class, and no time outside of class.
