Writing Bliss - 10+ Must Know Compositions (Flexible Schedule)
This is a composition class that will cover a variety of writing forms. This class is a great pairing with Sharonda Lawrence's history classes. While many writings could be used for both classes, it is not necessary. A great deal can be learned from this class alone.
What's included
Class Experience
This is a flex class, so the structure of the class will differ from the live class. As stated in the summary this class is a great pairing with Sharonda Lawrence's history classes and a $20 credit will be offered to those enrolled in both classes. This class will evaluate for proper composition and grammar, while Sharonda Lawrence will evaluate for historical facts and accuracy. A great deal can be learned from this class alone, but if you are looking for a history class this is a great combination. There will be videos to introduce the writing form that we will be tackling for the week. Examples will be provided, weekly activities and student-generated ideas posted to the discussion board will be discussed via student to student posts. To conclude each class, instruction on the week's assignments will be given. Student to student interaction will occur through required participation on discussion boards and peer review. Teacher to student interaction will occur through these same discussion boards as well as private messaging to review drafts and final copies of each writing form. A rubric will be used to evaluate each week's writing. Students will need to submit their weekly writing under the correct tab in order to receive their feedback. External Resources
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Teacher expertise and credentials
Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
As a Pennsylvania certified teacher, homeschool mom and co-op teacher, I can say one of the most beautiful things to watch is a child's pride grow as they write proficiently. My son took a history class which required him to complete many of these forms of writing. I realized how necessary it is for children to be exposed to and tackle the many forms of writing. My goal is for your child's confidence and pride as a writer to grow throughout this course.
