In this class, students will learn a step by step approach to writing an argumentative essay. We will begin by defining what makes up an Argumentative Essay. Followed by the students learning to create a plan for their essay. Then during the following weeks' students will learn how to write the five paragraphs that make up their essay. Our final classes will consist of editing and revising the students' essays. Each week, we will add to the students' existing knowledge. I will provide students with the content they need for each lesson via an interactive slide presentation, then engage students with an exercise that allows them to practice their new knowledge. Students can expect to receive positive and constructive feedback on their assignments. Learners in this class should have preexisting knowledge of writing complete sentences and should be ready to write a multi-paragraph essay. Week 1 - Argumentative Writing...What is it?
