During this multi-day course, students will dive into creatively writing about WHAT IF scenarios from the Harry Potter universe. This class will contain plot spoilers, so only students who have completed the series should participate in this class. This class will help students utilize the writing process to compose their own WHAT IF story. During this course, students will practice using the writing process to create their own narrative writing. There are many expectations for creative writing that will be align to class topics. The narrative writing expectations of this class will match each student's grade level Common Core State Standards.
There should be plenty of time for students to work during class, but if students wish to continue their writing outside of class hours that is fine.
Students will need to complete graphic organizers and writing their story; if they are comfortable on a computer, they can type their work. If students prefer to physically write out their work on paper, that is fine. It is up to student preference.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will be no formal assessment of this class. Students will be able to present and share their work, if they wish, on the final day of class.
2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
