In this course, I will teach students the purpose of a thesis statement and identify the difference between various different types of theses. I will encourage students to use discussion to analyze the different purposes of various example statements. Students will then practice writing thesis statements for a variety of different topics and types of writing assignments. If a student is working on an assignment outside of this course that requires thesis statement development, they are welcome to use that to supplement the learning in this course.

Hello! I am an English & writing teacher who loves to read! I obtained my B.A. in English from Southeastern University and my M.A. in English from Rutgers University. I have been teaching for 3 years and am excited to teach here on Outschool! I currently live in New Jersey with my husband two golden retrievers, Maggie and Harper.
I teach classes about English topics, grammar, and literature. My favorite books include the Harry Potter Series, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Time Quintet. My students improve most drastically when given individualized instruction that fits their needs.
