My goal is to open up the creativity of students and help them to write a short story.  To unlock their imaginations and memories of past experiences that we will together put into story-form.  Writing stories with details will help students to comprehend what they read in other classes and do better on school homework and test in other subjects such as history, science, English, and math word problems.

I have a Master's Degree, am semi-retired, and I work with students from kindergarten through high school as a substitute teacher, afterschool tutoring, writing plays and skits with students, and teaching on-stage acting classes.
The plays have presented to the public in theaters and schools.
My philosophy; “No one can take away your education.”  
I encourage students to have fun learning and to take ownership in their education.
I have a great rapport with students.  I enjoy telling stories, flying kites, cooking on a campfire, building parade floats, tutoring, and attending students' sporting events with their parents.  I hear from kids and parents, “Where do you get your energy?”  Teacher James

Homework-optional-- will be looking up topics for the story.  Such as if the student wants to write a story about a boy getting a puppy.  What kind of dog?  The student will research simple facts about that breed of dog and share them in class verbally or via chat box and use their research in their stories.   I too will research the topics and use that information in my stories.  One boy had info on his dad's car; where it was made and the engine size, etc. 

50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
