Description
Class Experience
Students will meet with the teacher to work on individual novels. During this time, students will work on developing dynamic and complex characters, settings, timelines, and more. We will work through descriptive writing and dialogues. As this is a ***workshop course*** students can expect to write in class. All students work on their writing in class, so often times many students will be working independently and quietly on their own as I meet with each student multiple times independently...
Students will improve their writing through mini-lessons focused on different aspects of novel writing.
In addition to teaching professionally at the middle school and high school level in English, I have specifically taught classes on analyzing writing and its purposes. This was accompanied by how to write these as well. I am also working on writing my own novel and am collaborating with my husband and sister on writing children's stories.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
