This 30 minute class provides help for writing a grant, award, or scholarship application. There are many awards and grants available for youth and during this session I will help the student complete an application or provide tips.

What will be taught?
This class will focus on teaching students how to create standout applications for grants, awards, or scholarships. Students will learn key strategies for showcasing their achievements, experiences, and unique qualities to align with the goals of the application reviewers.

What topics will you cover?

- Understanding the application process and identifying key components (e.g., essays, resumes, and recommendation letters).
- Decoding application prompts and tailoring responses effectively.
- Highlighting strengths and accomplishments without exaggeration.
- Writing clear, concise, and compelling personal statements.
- Common pitfalls to avoid in applications.
- Tips for proofreading and submitting polished applications.

How is your class structured?
This 30-minute session will be broken into three parts:

Introduction (5 minutes): Brief overview of the student's goals for their specific application.
Discussion of the student’s strengths and how they relate to the application.

Focused Work Session (20 minutes): Hands-on analysis of the specific application requirements. Crafting or refining one key section, such as an essay, resume, or short-answer response. Live feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Wrap-Up and Q&A (5 minutes): Recap of key takeaways. Actionable next steps for completing the application.

How will you teach?
I will use an interactive teaching style tailored to the student's individual needs and goals. 

The session will include:

- Slides to provide visual aids and examples of strong applications.
- Live Demonstrations of writing techniques and formatting tips.
- Discussion and Analysis of the student’s work to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
- Interactive Activities such as brainstorming sessions and editing exercises.

My teaching style is supportive and collaborative. I focus on making students feel confident and empowered while guiding them through practical steps to improve their application. I emphasize skill-building and critical thinking, ensuring that students not only finish their application but also gain strategies they can use in future opportunities.

This class is one-on-one, ensuring that students have my full attention throughout the session. Interaction will include:

- Discussion: Exploring the student's background, achievements, and goals.
- Live Writing and Editing: Working collaboratively on application components.
- Personalized Feedback: Providing detailed advice on how to enhance their application.
