In this class students will learn what a biography is and how to write one about Stage Coach Mary. In this 2 day workshop students will receive feedback on their writing and develop skills to help them grow as writers.

This will be an extremely interactive class using an engaging PowerPoint where students will learn how to write a biography by interacting with books and videos that will help them with their writing process. Students will construct their own biography based on Stage Coach Mary and receive constructive feedback on their writing from the instructor and classmates. Learning goals: Students will learn what a biography is by reading and writing a biography on stagecoach Mary. Students will learn how to improve their writing through revision and the use of literary devices. Students will understand how similes can enhance their writing as well as the writing of others. Students will build confidence as a writer. Students will use poetry as a form of expression. Students will have fun!
I have worked with elementary students for the past 3 years on developing literacy skills and helping students use reading and writing as a way to express themselves. I am a recent graduate from Whittier College with a major in Child Development and a minor in Education.
