Writers Summer Camp: Workshop Readiness

In this class, students will become writing experts. Students will learn how composition skills along with grammar basics. Students will be able to develop all the skills needed to write a successful paragraph. Through our writing, we will learn about the different types of forms. At the beginning of each class, we will go through a lesson dedicated to our writing topic. Students will be taught the writing process, from brainstorming to the final draft. Everyone will receive a writer's workshop folder we will create in class. Each week we will add our material and learnings into our folder. Each week students will be given a writing assignment in the classroom. Everyone will have the opportunity to receive feedback and work with one another. The weekly schedule is as follows: Day 1:What is the writing process? Day 2: Putting the writing process into action. Day 3: Creative Writing Day 4: 4 Styles of Writing Each class meeting, students will begin class with a reading passage, which will lead to our writing assignment for the day. Throughout the lesson, students can engage with our learners and the teacher through interactive materials, lessons, and games.
