Class Experience

Journaling is a great way to express and learn more about yourself. I have personally kept a journal for all of my life (well...since I was 12) Looking back, I see all the things that mattered most and have learned so much from my own words, doodles, newspaper clippings, poems and songs. I love to pass on the love of journaling to others.

Each class will include a mindfulness activity to focus our attention. Each week, we will feature a different way to journal including writing, drawing, poems, lists, using dialogue, collages, photos and pictures. We will always have journal writing music to inspire us. This is an on-going class and so you can join or leave class anytime you like.

Sharing is always optional your journal is always optional. There will be times to share what you have worked on, but you don't have to participate in that part if you choose not to.

Spontaneity
Journaling activities are not sacred. If you want to change an activity to fit your style, feel free to do so. Be creative and use your imagination.

Below is a weekly breakdown to get us started:

Week of January 24th: My Heart Map
We will be drawing a giant heart in our journal and then answering the questions about ourselves and doodling inside the heart creating a beautiful reminder of what's important to us and who we are.

Week of January 31st: Oh the places I will go!
This week we will dream about the places we want to go in life whether that be an actual location or a destination in life. Using lots of color pencils or crayons, we will describe the places we want to go.

Week of February 7th: Self Improvement Journal
Working on becoming the best version of ourselves we will journal about what our goals are for wellness, confidence, self esteem and things we want to improve. We will incorporate habit trackers in our journal for those who want to track their progress.

Week of February 14th: What I wish my life was!
We will journal as if our life was exactly the way we wish it was instead of reality. It's an interesting way to set goals and dream about the possibilities in life!

Week of February 21st: Productivity Journal
This bullet journal can help you keep track of your goals and what you want to accomplish each day setting you up for success each day.

Week of February 28th: Dialogue
One of my favorite ways to journal is using dialogue. We'll practice how to use dialogue when telling a story or getting the answers to your hardest questions!

March 7th: Dreams and Fears Tree
We will make a tree featuring our dreams and fears in life.

March 14th: Word Art
We will create a piece of art using words that describe the art we are creating.

March 21st: Time-line of My Life
There's nothing like looking back on your life to reflect on where you are! We will create a time-line of our life with pictures.

Learning Goals
