Dive into the art of poetry in this engaging 8-week course, designed to unlock your creativity and help you find your unique voice as a poet. Each week, we'll explore different poetic forms—from the structured sonnet to the free-flowing verse—while experimenting with techniques such as imagery, rhythm, and sound. Through a series of guided exercises, you'll learn how to express emotions, capture moments, and tell stories through the power of words. We'll also delve into thematic writing, allowing you to explore topics close to your heart, and persona poems, where you'll adopt new perspectives to bring fresh voices to life. With a focus on both creativity and craft, this course offers a supportive environment to refine your writing and explore new ideas. By the end of the course, you'll have created a diverse portfolio of original poems that showcase your growth as a writer. You'll leave with not only a collection of your work but also the confidence and skills to share your poetry with others, whether in a classroom setting, at open mic nights, or in published formats. Perfect for both beginners and those looking to deepen their poetic practice, this course is your gateway to the world of poetry.
