Description

Class Experience

*Prerequisite: at least 4 months of piano lessons

In this 6-day camp, learners will explore the C major and C minor positions and write melodies, harmonies, and lyrics for songs based on simple templates.  Learners will dive into basic song forms, patterns, and motifs.  The teacher will be reviewing basics of music theory each lesson.
*Please note that I will be uploading templates for the learners to use before each class in the classroom!

Week 1: Write your first song!
•	Review C Major...

Learners will design and compose songs and create lyrics and titles for their songs.

Learners may have some outside work to do on their songs if they don’t finish in class.

Learners will be provided templates via PDFs before each class.  Learners should have access to either a piano or keyboard, have a pencil, and a highlighter.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Informal assessment from the instructor and peers

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
