Students will learn how to give and receive respectful, constructive criticism. Students will gain a better understanding of film and writing structure, as well as literary concepts such as theme, symbolism, etc. Students will improve their creative and technical writing skills.
As a graduate of New York University's Dramatic Writing program, my degree work is in the field of screenwriting. During my time at NYU, I was chosen for two Dublin-based programs: one in screenwriting and one in playwriting. I worked with some of the best screenwriters in the New York and Ireland film scenes and was proud to graduate with a 3.9 GPA in related classes. Further, I have used screenwriting courses to encourage confidence and emotional honesty in at-risk youth.
