Description
Class Experience
There are NO live meetings for this class. The material will be posted weekly and you can view it during the week at your convenience. This course teaches young authors how to create and craft a story by learning about character, plot, setting, and how to bring it all together. Students will start by exploring what makes a story and then move on to creating characters, building a plot, and describing a setting. This course covers 6 weeks of lessons, with each week consisting of 5 short...
I am the founder of Write with Jen and I have over 15 years of experience teaching creative writing to elementary and middle school students. In addition to being a really fun cheerleader for writing skills, I use proven educational methods, such as mentor texts and scaffolding, to teach students how to express themselves.
Each lesson will have its own pdf that can be downloaded and printed.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
