1. Students will analyze nonfiction texts. 2. Students will determine the number of paragraphs needed to complete the writing tasks. 3. Students will plan and compose an essay in response to an analytical writing prompt that includes proper multi-paragraph format; development of ideas using details from the texts; elaboration on how details support the thesis; transitions; domain-specific vocabulary; and a conclusion.

Students are invited to submit their final essay assigned during Week 5 to Ms. Heather for a formal evaluation and feedback for up to one week after the last class. Students will receive informal feedback during sessions as well.Grades Offered
