In this VERY INTENSE writing course, we will be working together to self-publish your masterpiece. This course is for ADVANCED writers.

Students will learn how to compile their writing into a published piece. I will cover: Writing, Editing, Revising, Rewriting, and the Self-Publishing process. How is my class structured? Class will be held once a week for an hour and a half. Students will be expected to participate and share their work with the class. There will be a time of silent reading, silent writing, sharing, processing of new writing skills, and writing collaboration. How will I teach? I will teach using powerpoints but mostly through speaking with the students. I will use examples of strong writing from different videos and images. Students will be working in small groups when we do different writing exercises. What's my teaching style? My teaching style is more explanatory and example driven. Students easily comprehend because of the examples and engaging activities that will be provided. How much will learners get to interact with me and each other? Students will be able to message me whenever they need to, comment on the discussion board in the classroom, talk with me directly each week, share their writing progress etc. Any required experience or knowledge learners need? Students who are interested in writing and publishing should be in this class. If they are not interested, they should not join. ALL writing, editing, revisions will be done in class. So please be prepared to do intense writing during each class time. Weekly Schedule 1. (Brainstorming and beginning) Week 1 we will focus on writing activities that will prepare the student to write their own piece. Student will be given over 30 minutes of silent reading and writing time. 2. (Complete Draft 1) Week 2 we will work on completing draft 1 during class time. We will also begin to work on what the book cover can/should look like. 3. (Revising+Editing) Week 3 we will work on the editing and revising process. The teacher and student will edit and revise their work. During class, editing and revising will take place. Students will be able to work in the break-out room to help each other with simple editing. 4. (Final Draft) Week 4 we will work on the final draft and look at the lulu platform that will be used to design and upload the final document. This class will be longer than 1 hour and a Half. By the end of this session, students will have final products. Students will be given links to their pieces so that they can order their own copies. *SELF PUBLISHING will have a separate order and shipping cost.Please be aware the cost for the course will not include the cost of the books you choose to order.
Learning Goals
Students will:
1. Participate in fun activities that are geared to improving their writing.
2. Create a 10 chapter book that they will self-publish.
3. Write silently in a quiet and peaceful environment.
4. Read inspiring pieces by other authors with the class.
5. Edit their writing.
6. Revise their writing.
7. Collaborate and give constructive criticism when others are sharing their work.

Parental Guidance
Self-publishing will have a separate order and shipping cost. Please be aware the cost for the course will not include the cost of the books you choose to order. Each student will receive a link/have a personalize account to where their book will be held. Students can choose to attach a cost to the book if they are wanting to later share it. The details will be explained to students and parents before the course starts through a zoom meeting so that all basis are covered.
Supply List
Students will need to have a writing utensil, Paper, pencil, and coloring utensils (students will be told which items they need.) They can have a drink or a snack. We will also do several relaxation exercises that will get us in the writing mindset.

During this course, students can choose the genre they want to write about with a 10 chapter limit due to time constraints and editing required by the teacher.
