US Grade 2 - 4
In this ongoing course, students will practice grammar and punctuation while writing conversations. The lessons will not build on each other so learners are welcome to join at any time. During each class, learners will learn a grammar or punctuation concept and practice using the concept in their writing. Below is a breakdown of each class:

Topics:

Week of March 13: Understanding speech and conversation
Week of March 20: How to use speech marks
Week of March 27: Using punctuation to write longer conversations
Week of April 3: Exploring different verbs for "said"
Week of April 10: Using adjectives to describe a character's voice
Week of April 17: How adverbs can tell us more about a character's speech
Week of April 24: What conversations can reveal about characters' relationships
Week of May 8: Developing a character's vocabulary and communication style
Week of May 29:  Statements, questions, commands and exclamations
Week of June 5: Understanding reported speech and its uses
Week of June 12: Inner speech 
Week of June 19: The power of silence in conversation and writing
Week of July 3: Writing an interview
