Let's go on an adventure! Let's write a story! Let's get creative! After choosing a picture of an adventure, students will learn to create a key word outline to prepare to write a paragraph. I will teach the class how to create the outline. Outlines are important to writers. Using an outline, students can get their ideas on paper (whether they have lots of ideas on only a few ideas) and organize those ideas into a succinct, creative plan for a paragraph. Students will be able to create an outline that will provide the structure to write a cohesive paragraph. Students will be able to brainstorm a variety of descriptive words to use in the paragraph. Students will learn to write a paragraph that is specific, descriptive, and engaging using a variety of strong vocabulary. Students will learn to include a topic sentence, details that support that topic, and a conclusion/clincher sentence that reflects the topic sentences and draws the paragraph to a concise end.

Before first class-vote on the adventure you want to write about. The adventure with the most votes will be the one we complete in class. After Class 1: Brainstorm 2 more adjectives, -ly words, and verbs; optional-choose this picture or another picture and create a different KWO After Class 2: Add 2 dress-ups to the paragraph and turn in the paragraph; vote for the picture for next class; optional-write the paragraph from the KWO you wrote for last class. I will correct your paper if you send it to me. After Class 3: Brainstorm 2 more adjectives, -ly words, and verbs; optional-choose this picture or another picture and create a different KWO After Class 4: Optional-write the paragraph from the KWO you wrote for last class.
