Hello! I am currently a full-time college instructor. My areas of expertise include reading, writing, and study/learning skills. I currently teach Academic Survival Skills and College Literacy to college freshmen, and I teach developmental and advanced writing online to adults of various ages across the country. With my experience and education, I know that I can effectively prepare high school students for college level work and expectations. I also often teach students strategies for helping them succeed in their other college level courses.
Students will be expected to write paragraphs outside of class sessions. These will be due before the next class meeting. Students will use Google drive/docs to write their papers, so I can go into their essays and add feedback for improvement. Students will be expected to fully read their two to three scholarly sources to be able to integrate those ideas into their writing.
I will supply learning materials that may include PDF readings, scholarly articles, and PowerPoints.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Informal instructor feedback
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
