Class Experience

During this one-time class, students will have the opportunity to have fun and interact with each other by playing a winter-themed “would you rather” game. This is a conversational class where students can practice their social skills, meet other students, and work on public speaking skills as they’ll have to explain their reasoning and they may have different opinions than other classmates. I, Miss. Ivon will guide the conversations, ask questions, and allow students to share their opinions and answers with their friends. My “Would You Rather” themed classes are a great way to socialize with friends in a laid back and positive environment. Students will be improving their conversational skills without even knowing it and having FUN as a bonus!

Step 1: Introduction. I will introduce myself to the students and get to know the students.
Step 2: Steps. I will explain to the students what does Would You Rather mean and how it is played.
Step 3: Rules. I will ask the Would You Rather questions I have chosen and I will share the slides I have created with pictures. The students will take turns sharing their answers and explaining why they prefer the answer that they chose.
Step 4: If there is extra time after all the questions are responded I will allow the students to ask me some Would You Rather Winter-themed questions and I also have extra questions I can ask them to continue with the game.
Step 5:Say Goodbye and until the next class!

I am a very enthusiastic and energetic teacher, My goal is to make my classroom environment a safe place where even shy students feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas. I motivate my students to openly engage in the class topics allowing everyone to participate, making sure other students are being respectful, kind, and listening. I will make sure to applaud good behavior and say thank you for the student’s participation, thoughts, and opinions. I will allow every student to share their answer and reasoning with the class after each question is presented. Here on my personal teaching corner at Outschool, learning shall not be boring but FUN! I love making my students feel comfortable in class and seeing their creativity and personality SHINE. I motivate students of all personality types to come to any of my classes because everyone is welcome.

I have been using would you rather questions on different topics as a way to keep my students of all ages excited and engaged in their learning process. When I personally was in school I can admit that the things that I most remember are those that were taught to me in a fun and engaging matter. I teach with a lot of positive energy and a BIG smile! I want my students to feel the love and passion that I have for teaching and for my students in every single class I offer. I also teach with a lot of facial expressions and TPR (Total Physical Response) as well as positive affirmations.

I have made an attention-grabbing slideshow with nice pictures and thought-provoking FUN questions to present to the class. Learners will take turns listening to each other, and will be encouraged to respond respectfully with questions/comments. This class is intended to be a fun way to practice thinking, conversation, and turn-taking skills. Students are welcomed to bring hot chocolate, cookies, or snacks to class. I can't wait to see your learner in class!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there, my name is Ivon and I offer a variety of fun social classes where many life skills are learned. I am privileged to have my own little corner here on Outschool where I attempt to make a positive impact in my learner's life.

My goal is for kids to have a safe environment where they feel comfortable being themselves. As a teacher, I have noticed the want, the desire, and most importantly the need that the kids were having when it comes to socialization. Many learners are eager to show, share, and tell, and at times with other classes, there is only time to hear a little tiny bit of what they actually have to say because a specific topic or information needs to be covered.

*I am currently offering a variety of social life skill classes and clubs for kids of ages 3-14 I have a lot of experience teaching online and I am a social butterfly (but I wasn't always that way) I want to help your kiddos improve and better their social skills in my virtual classroom. I can't wait to make new friends!

A little about me: I am from Florida, USA, and I was raised in a Spanish (Bilingual) household. I am passionate about Language, Culture, Travel, Food, Cooking and Baking, Music, Disney, Dance, and so much more!

I offer English and Spanish classes and I will be adding more classes based on my true passions. I hope that some of my classes can be of interest and benefit to you. Please make sure to scroll down to see what classes I am currently offering. If you don't see a day or time that works for you please feel free to send me a class schedule request and I will try my best to open it for you. Thank you.

My Experience:
I am a TEFL-certified teacher (Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certification) I have been an online English and Spanish teacher for kids from different parts of the world for over 3 years now and I teach kids from ages three and up.
Before teaching online I worked in a middle school as a paraprofessional teacher with a visually impaired 8th grader. This opportunity allowed me to become a better teacher because I learned how to explain, teach, help, and touch the hearts of students without them having to physically see anything.
I was also a permanent (K 12) substitute teacher and I spent a lot of time in the special education department, ESL classrooms, and others.

I believe that learning should be fun, engaging, and impactful. I understand that all students are different and that each child learns in a different way.

*In my classroom bullying or disrespect will not be tolerated. The classes I offer are supposed to be fun, motivating, and inspiring for all the children. I want all of the kids to in a safe environment where they can feel comfortable being themselves.
