Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this Multi-day camp students will practice opinion writing by answering "Would You Rather" question prompts.

First, we will play a quick game of would you rather. Then, I'll introduce the writing prompt. Together we'll brainstorm pros and cons for both options. Students will be able to use the sentence starters to write their opinion in a short paragraph. They'll state their opinion in a complete sentence and then provide at least three reasons to support their choice. I will assist students with spelling and grammar if they ask for help, but the focus will be on supporting their opinion. If time allows, students will have the opportunity to share their writing and/or draw a picture to match their writing.

Day 1: Would you rather go to a beach or go camping?
Day 2: Would you rather have a dog or cat as a pet?
Day 3: Would you rather be a fish or a bird?
Learning Goals

Hello I am Mrs. Keyuanna Evans. I am the teacher your child will never forget!
I have a patient teaching approach and strongly believe in verbal praise, positive correction and having fun while learning. I hope to build students' confidence and inspire them to learn. As a teacher, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child engage and having that "Light bulb" moment when they understand something.
I graduated from Virginia State University with a Masters in Education with a focus in Special Education. I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Recreation and Physical Education. I have been teaching elementary school for over 17 years. I have taught students in general education and students in Special Education. I have taught in both private and charter school settings.
In my everyday life, I am a wife and mother of one sweet 11 year old girl. I enjoy watching movies and spending time with my family.
