In this one time course, students will learn and discuss the various roles of propaganda including art, photography, and government sponsored ads and their effectiveness in World War Two. During World War Two both the Allied and Axis powers launched mass propaganda campaigns in order to promote military strength, and nationalism. This included, posters, broadcasting ads, photographs, cartoons and memorabilia such as post cards. I will be presenting an authentic German piece of art that we will analyze and review. We will review and analyze their effectiveness as well as their depictions of war. This class will include a lecture taught using google slides that will incorporate images of these propaganda ads as well as a discussion where students are encouraged to ask questions and think critically about the images presented.

Students will gain a better understanding of wartime campaigns and the effectiveness of propaganda.

Parental Guidance
This course focuses on the large scale use of propaganda during warfare, this presentations will include some photos that depict violence, injury and racism. These photos are necessary, in order to provide the full context wartime campaigns.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Education with an emphasis in History. I have studied history extensively through my undergraduate courses and taken Many courses that focuses on European history and World War Two. I am a certified teacher and I currently hold a valid teaching certificate. I have been teaching history in both the high school and middle school setting for 4 years. This unit has been implemented in a traditional classroom setting under the supervision of administration and meets Arizona Teaching Standards.
I am willing to answer any questions prior to class about what students can expect if they are concerned about the sensitivity of the topic.
