If you are interested in World War II and more specifically the dropping of the atomic bombs on Japan, this class is for you! This class provides the opportunity for students to learn and consider critical thinking questions; so, whether you have limited knowledge or know quite a bit on this topic, you can participate and engage with your classmates.

In this class, students will be provided with some background history on the events that led to America's decision to drop not one but two atomic bombs on Japan.  Together, we will critically think about some of the challenging questions about these historical events, such as:
- Should the Americans have dropped the bombs? Should they have only dropped one bomb?
- Was it right to use this type of force against innocent civilians?
- Could the war have ended without the use of atomic bombs?

This class will use a slideshow presentation to provide students with an introduction and additional background information related to our topic. As well, this presentation will help guide our discussion and we will engage in respectful conversation to gain a better understanding of all sides of the arguments.
